The Middle East is a region where automobile is king and fuel is inexpensive, frequently leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly methods of moving around.
But this year, as protests across the Middle East have risen the cost of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has actually entered sharp focus.
In an area that has among the greatest carbon footprints in the world, one business is benefiting from the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing lucrative too, already their client-list contains McDonald's.
